Forest Coaches is run by husband and wife team Simon and Rebecca Hayes. The company was first established in 2015 where it operated from the Essex area. However, due to changing family circumstances the business was recently relocated to South Shropshire where we operate a school contract for Herefordshire Council and provide private coach hire. Our aim is to start advertising day trips and establish a full program of day tours.
Forest Coaches is Simon’s passion and concept. His previous business experience has been in the property and mortgage industry where he set up and managed two companies – but coaches are where his real enthusiasm lies. He has had a fascination with mechanics and vehicles since childhood and enjoys meeting new people and exploring different places. Simon acquired his first coach in 2001 which he operated on behalf of a local church. He went on to work within the coach industry as a manager for a number of reputable coach companies, this continued to spark his entrepreneurial spirit and inspired him to establish his own coach company, Forest Coaches.
As a company we try to limit our impact on the environment by not being wasteful and recycling materials to limit the amount that goes to landfill. We keep our vehicles well maintained to reduce the fuel they use and train our drivers to have a smooth and economic driving style. We also partner with a charity called Biofuelwatch. Many companies boast that they are kind to the environment by using biofuel, a renewable energy, rather than diesel, a fossil fuel. In fact, biofuel is often more harmful as massive areas of forest land are now being cleared to produce biofuel.
Please visit the Biofuelwatch website and learn more about the risk posed by biofuels: biofuelwatch.org.uk
